I disagree.
There’s a moment where everyone is a beginner in a new topic and skill . spirit keeping is no different in that regard.
It’s not quite accurate to say it’s beginner safe but it’s not wholly unsafe either.
Although . as with any new skill your learning . its recommended to learn how to do so safely. So other skills may be required first in other matters in order to be able to do so safely. Also this is why research is so important. So you can have some idea of what you’d be getting into and what to expect.

It is definitely not something to get into without some idea of how to protect yourself and other means or when just starting out.
